♻️Working Together to Advance the Circular Economy – Through Dialogue with Policymakers👇
A good and productive day in Berlin.
Together with
Heinrich Sülzle (SÜLZLE Group, partner at ARCUS Greencycling Technologies) I have Marcel Beermann talks today with representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, of the CDU Economic Council, Inc. as well as the Green Party Economic Association conducted. Our goal: to clarify the role of chemical recycling in the circular economy—and to address the necessary policy framework. Chemical recycling can:
♻️ Utilize waste streams that are currently mostly incinerated, thereby strengthening the circular economy
🏭 Creating value, jobs, and investment in Germany
🌍 Reduce CO₂ emissions
🛡️ Increase geopolitical resilience (reduce dependence on crude oil imports)
🚀 Enable the development of an industrial value chain under German leadership

In addition to the opportunities, we also discussed the necessary framework conditions. To truly unlock this potential, we need support from policymakers—particularly in the following areas:
1️⃣ Ensuring equal treatment of chemical and mechanical recycling
2️⃣ Harmonizing regulations at the German and European levels
3️⃣ Protecting against imports that meet lower standards

In all of our conversations, we found people willing to listen. The discussions were very constructive and solution-oriented, and the next steps have already been agreed upon.

Another step toward greater sustainability. We at ARCUS Greencycling Technologies are ready!
